picking paint

Beloved spent the weekend flinging decades worth of detritus into the dumpster. i spent the weekend ruminating over paint. i narrowed my selection to four shades. the top one looks too yellow, the second one too gray, the third one too dark.

i liked the last one from the first time i saw it in the store. here's a few more photos. what do you think?

and furthermore, the war must end. blessed be.

I agree with too yellow and too dark.

I do like the too gray one though, as well as the last one.

I like the dark one. But - it's so hard to tell from a little electronic image, even blown up. Even so, the darker one feels warm and embracing and with that room opened up (right?), a larger space *can* start to feel cooler. Know what I mean?

On the other hand, I can't really imagine such a thing happening in your home (that feeling of distant coolness)!

But - hey - I do like the one you like too! That's my close second.

I like that one too. I'm also wowed at the amount of light in the room now that the porch is gone.

it IS pretty amazing how much more light there is... i can't wait to see how the rooms change when we take out most of that window wall!!!
